Guitar Hero telah dimatikan oleh Activision. Sebuah video yang memparodikan lagu 'American Pie' pun dibuat untuk mengenang game tersebut.

Video dengan judul 'The Day Guitar Hero Died' dibuat oleh TheWarpZone dan dipublikasikan.

Bagi mereka yang pernah bermain Guitar Hero, lagu ini boleh dibilang cukup menyentuh. Ia membangkitkan 'kenangan' seperti bermain game di kamar kos saat kuliah.

Lagu itu juga agak menyindir Activision yang nampaknya terlalu fokus pada seri Call of Duty. Hal ini nampak dalam lirik yang menyebut gitar telah diganti oleh senjata.

Tak lupa, lagu itu menyebut-nyebut Rock Band. Ini merupakan game pesaing Guitar Hero yang dibuat oleh Harmonix, pencetus asli seri Guitar Hero.
